Bamboo Frame

Found this killer painting of a waterbuck
(painted on a lavender bedsheet)
at a thrift store for $2.00.  Sweet....

But what I really wanted was the bamboo frame.

I painted a coat of black semi-gloss latex paint over the frame and let it sit for a few minutes before wiping it off.

This darkened it a bit and enhanced the lines of the bamboo.

After cleaning the glass really well,
I added a drawing of a fox that I drew for Kevin.

I cut a piece of chip board with my exacto knife
and used that as the backing.
Then I taped it all up neatly with black gorilla tape.

I like the rough edge of the watercolor paper and didn't want to cover it up with a traditional mat.  Instead, I laid the drawing on grey paper cut to size.

 So foxy.

Fabric Covered Box Spring

I'm not a big fan of bedskirts, so instead,
I covered the box spring.

I found the perfect fabric from West Elm and my cousin was able to get me a discount.

I measured the height of the box spring and added 4", 2" for the top and 2" for the bottom.

I cut four strips.  I sewed two strips together for one box spring and two strips for the other.
(king beds have two twin box springs under them)
Then I started stapling.

I started at the front and worked my way around the sides.

It came out great!
I love the fabric.

Josh & Alyssa's House

We recently spent a weekend with my cousins, Alyssa & Josh.

It was so much fun spending time with them and checking out
their incredible home.

Look at this cute little neighborhood!

Molding everywhere!

Seriously, look at those floors.

Love the exposed brick!

The kitchen has TONS of storage.

I absolutely love this house.  Thanks to Alyssa and Josh
for letting me show it off.
